Here’s a thing I did back in 2010. I technically shouldn’t be posting it, because it (along with almost all of my music) is exclusively licensed to some company until the contract is finally up next summer, but whatever. They’ve made me less than $100 over the past four years, so fuck them.
This song was thrown together late one night after a double shift in the deli department at a grocery store. IIRC I was drinking black coffee and eating fried eggs. I used to hang out at that diner after every show (I was a drummer in a punk band at the time), and every other time I was bored and didn’t want to go home. I think this was done in FL Studio 9, using Edirol for the strings, on a Dell netbook, with dollar store headphones.
I think it wasn’t mastered at all. If I still had the .flp files I would love to fix up the whole album it’s on, master it properly, and re-release it. I only have mp3 files, because at one point I was running out of disk space (I believe I had a 128GB HDD at the time), and all high quality masters and music files got removed. I could recreate this in a weekend, probably, and do it properly, but it wouldn’t feel the same.
